Of frogs and princes

Catching up on some reading and I found this beauty from Anshu Sharma which references Jason Corsello:

Just because a talented individual doesn’t look the part and lacks confidence doesn’t mean they can’t be a top performer.

Are you ignoring what true talent looks like? Can you tap into the unexposed skills of your employees?

It’s a bonus link but the remainder of Anshu’s post is equally important for those who are concerned about professional relationships. The video is stunning.

I remember that one of the sharpest tax minds I ever came across was a person that made Harold Steptoe look the model of sartorial elegance. He was also a gentle soul. A truly Beautiful Mind.

In a profession that prizes ‘networking’ and an ability to ‘get on with others’ I too wonder whether those are the right metrics for encouraging those who could make partner – if only we would look beyond what we initially see.

Note: Anshu and Jason are in one of my most important networks. When you read stuff like this then you know why I prize these relationships.

Thank you for your kind words of encouragement. And I learn a lot from you and the gang.
