Online collaborative wordprocessing

by Dennis Howlett on January 5, 2006

Here’s more interesting stuff. Writeboard is an online word processor that you can securely share with colleagues. It’s an interesting idea and is the sort of thing that could be useful in contract negotiations. So I’m giving it a spin but with a twist.

Elsewhere, I’m running a project jointly with David Tebbutt which we’ve codenamed Wartznall. I’ve set up a document in Writeboard called Wartznall. The password is hotdog.

If you wish, go in and see what I’ve said, amend, add a comment, talk about something completely different. I really don’t mind as long as it’s not profane. Then invite a colleague to have a go with it. And please do NOT change the password, others won’t be able to get in if you do. Please. It’s completely free.

Well, actually there is a catch. I’m not going to say anymore about the service. You’ll have to open the document to know what my initial thoughts were. And cos I’m feeling generous, here’s a clue: it’s in the categories to which this post has been assigned. If you’re interested.

This will be an interesting experiment to see how far the document travels and who picks up on it.

If you’re a Backpack user , then Writeboard integrates right in.

BTW – I wrote about Writeboard back in October. That was a terrible post. Thank goodness I’ve learned how to make things work on this site.

  • You can see how early the wartznall project is - I always spell it with lowercase W. Dennis and I clearly have things to discuss.
